This will throw some light about the less recognized proprietary trading career in India but already coveted in U.S. Unlike the western world, almost all prop trading firms in India offer a basic salary along with percentage profit sharing. Proprietary trading primarily refers to trading on institutional models facilitated by financial institutions like investment brokers and banks. Recently the term is extended to retail trading in an organized group with discipline and proper training. The main advantage is being motivated by peers and seniors can work wonders for a trader’s development. In India most firms do not ask for any type of money deposit. They take 100% of the risk and share a fraction of the rewards.

Best company to trade in Fixed income,Equity, Currency, Commodities, Energy futures and options in India is Futures First. It’s a UK based firm and has 5 big offices in India. Apart from India, it has offices in Middle East, Eastern Europe, China and Africa. Looking at a scale of the business it looks more like a medium size investment bank and not a proprietary firm. It can be checked easily that it is ranked consistently number 1 in all the major exchanges in the world in terms of the click trading volume it is doing on a monthly basis.
I have few friends who are working in the firm and are doing exceptionally well in 2-3 years time. On an average trader is making 75-100k pounds in a year as his bonus after 2-3 year of experience. It’s very very tough to get in to this firm. I have been trying for last 2 years.
