Passage to India

Slowly but surely, India hedge funds are beginning to offer the kind of strategies that can attract big fish such as London hedge fund giant Man Group, whose fund of hedge funds business could make its first direct allocation to an Indian hedge fund within a year, according to Asia business head Patric Gysin.

The actual article is quite dated as much of these funds do not exist anymore and also the strategy breakdowns are not quite accurate. There are a few groups which have tracked the HF industry in India for quite some time now and believe there are nearly 92 funds which invest in India under the 2/20 structure.

Murad…
I checked each of their website… They’re managed by Indians and almost all have offices in India. Couldn’t suspect that they’ve shut down operation with websites still in place. I couldn’t find it possible to make a accurate strategy breakdown since they shift and overlap strategies without much transparency. Thanks for reminding, will revise today the list to make it more useful.
Yes I know a lot of Hedge Funds which invest in India but here trying to list only those which have a research/trade operations office in India.

I also believe this fund is dated and not accurate as I work for a India L/S equity fund – Heritage Capital India (which should be added to the list).

Hi MS, thanks for your input. I compiled the list using information from their websites.

Help me guys to keep it updated.

Also some irritating spam websites have published their list of funds which are outdated and do not own a single office in India.
